DTE has issued a check to the city of Warren for $46,018 for the first phase of the city’s LED streetlight conversion. The rebate was issued to the City of Warren for its energy-saving lighting improvements.  The City of Warren has entered into an agreement with the utility company to install LED street lighting equipment at various locations, replacing 245 traditional street lights with energy-efficient LED lights.

As a result, according to DTE, the City of Warren will save over 100,000 kilowatt-hours by installing LED’s along a one mile stretch of Ryan Road.

An enlarged copy of the DTE check was presented to Mayor of the City of Warren, Jim R Fouts, by a DTE representative in the Mayor’s Office.

“LED streetlights are maintenance-free, energy efficient and brighter making our neighborhoods safer,” stated Mayor Jim Fouts.

Because of the Mayor’s initiatives in securing the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant, the city of Warren is to convert the its remaining mercury vapor streetlights to LED.
