City of Warren to Sponsor the 9th Annual “Free Document Shredding Day” At Warren City Hall

The City of Warren is sponsoring its ninth free document shredding day at Warren City Hall Saturday, July 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

WARREN 2

“The Mayor’s Office has been receiving many inquires about where and when documents can be shredded,” said Warren Mayor Jim Fouts in a statement.  “They (residents of the City of Warren) don’t want to put them in recycling containers for confidentiality reasons, and many don’t own a personal shredder.” Added Mayor Fouts.

Examples of items that can be shredded are invoices, bank statements, cancelled checks, tax returns, contracts and personal papers.

The Mayor’s office would like to remind the residents of Warren who are attending the shredding event, that items such as paper clips, binder clips and staples do not need to be removed.

While Cardboard boxes will not be shredded, there will be a recycle bin on-site to drop off cardboard boxes.

The shredding services will be performed by Stericycle.
